Statistics - I love 'em

I was fascinated by some of the statistics that were accumulated by some major leaguers. Viewing some players numbers has amazed me. My memories are these statistics Baseball surprising.

Rogers Hornsby
From 1921 to 1925 beat 2679 times -
He hit safely 1078 times
And an average of 0.402 during this course of five years. Not bad

From age 36-41 - the last six years in the Majors
beat 350 times total
Hit safely 105 times and fell short of 70 strokes
3000 hits for his career. Maybe could have planned better

Lou Gehrig

An average of 162 RBIs per year - Enough said
The man was a track for production machines

He never hit over 12 home runs in a single year
Seven times he knocked in over 100 runs
